Feeling stressed? Feeling like not able to cope with life?
Why not come and experience mindfulness in the award-winning 50 acre Warren Woods?

This 4-week course is an introduction to Mindfulness in a Woodland Setting and is suitable for anyone over the age of 18 who either already practises mindfulness or wants to explore the benefits of mindfulness in nature.

With guidance from your tutor you will learn to deeply connect with nature by using your senses of sight, sound, smell and touch which will not only deepen your connection with nature but also improve connection with yourself.

The sessions will be very slow-paced to enable you to explore and immerse yourself in the beautiful surroundings, to find stillness and calm.

Happiness is defined as a state of mind or a feeling characterised by contentment, love, satisfaction, pleasure or joy.  Recent research has shown that people are happier when they are concentrating on the present rather than when they are focussed on the past, the future or are distracted by worries, negative thoughts or fantasies.

The aim of the course is to learn new ways to handle your moods and emotions and to become aware of the small changes in the physical sensations in your body, your thoughts, moods and emotions and what is happening in the world around you.

Some of the benefits of practising mindfulness include:

General happiness and contentment – Greater harmony in relationships – Enhanced insight and clarity – Improved analytical skills – Increased curiosity, openness and acceptance – Reduction in anxiety, depression and stress – Improved memory and concentration – Enhanced ability to deal with illness and to manage pain – Reduced risk of heart problems – Improved immune system responses

The sessions will provide you with simple exercises you can use at home to benefit your wellbeing.

In case of inclement weather we will have the use of one of the timber-framed Centre buildings heated by a wood-burner stove.

The course will be led by Sabine Soosten, a qualified Level 3 ‘Mindfulness in Woodland’ pracitioner who acts as guide and gives support.

Cost – £60 including a simple vegetarian meal
