• The Tutor for this 3 day course is Owen Jones, the country’s leading expert in swill baskets, who will cover all aspects of making a traditional Lakeland Swill, including selecting, cleaving, boiling and riving coppiced oak trunks into thin splints.
• Hazel rods are then dressed, steamed and bent into an oval rim or bool.
• The oak splints are dressed and then you will weave your own swill.
• Although an intensive course, it is suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience of green woodworking.
