This 8-week Mindfulness course provides a structured programme and is suitable for anyone who wants to learn how to become more mindful in their everyday life.
“Simply put, mindfulness is moment-to-moment non-judgmental awareness.” – Jon Kabat-Zinn
There is published scientific evidence that mindfulness can often assist with:
Stress reduction – Improved health and wellbeing – Reduced anxiety and depression – Happiness – Greater confidence and self-esteem – Clarity and focus – Ability to have better quality sleep – Greater resilience –  Enhanced creativity –  Improved work-life balance – Greater work satisfaction – Improved concentration – Rapport and communication – Improved relationships – Pain reduction
These sessions will support you and provide you with the ‘tools’ to calm your busy mind and learn to deal with any wobbles of daily life.
The connection with nature and re-discovering the use of your senses of touch, sight, smell, taste and hearing will soothe the mind and ultimately improve connection with yourself in a gentle way.
This course provides a fusion of MBSR (mindfulness based stress reduction) and MBCT (mindfulness based cognitive therapy) with the focus on nature. It requires the participant to be committed to weekly attendance and requires daily mindful meditation practice in-between the weekly sessions.
This course does not provide a quick fix. Mindfulness is not therapy. Mindfulness is a discipline.
Mindfulness is how we are living our lives, moment by moment.
We note that the majority of people booking on Mindfulness sessions are women. Mindfulness is beneficial for EVERYONE. We welcome men of all ages.
Many companies have started offering Mindfulness to their employees as there is plenty of scientific evidence that it can help with stress.
The majority of the course will take place in our award-winning woodland. In case of inclement weather we will have the use of one of the timber-framed Centre buildings heated by a wood-burner stove.
The course will be led by Sabine Soosten, a lifelong practitioner of mindfulness, who is a member of the Woodland Skills Centre team, a Level 3 ‘Mindfulness in a Woodland Setting’ practitioner and a Qualified UKCMM Accredited Practitioner and Teacher of Mindfulness Meditation.

The cost for the 8-week course is £240 and includes the following:

– expert tuition

– printed course material

– guided meditation recordings for your own use at home

– mindfulness journal

– mindful activities (foraging, landart, mindful eating, mindful walking and movement and more….)

– at the start of each session a simple vegetarian meal and complimentary refreshments

Woodland Skills Centre is a not-for-profit social enterprise. Therefore all our costs are kept to a minimum.
The group size is limited to 6 participants – Book early to avoid disappointment.

Please note that attendance on this course is for your own personal use and is not a qualification to teach mindfulness.

Minimum age 18.
“Look deep into nature and then you will understand everything better.”               Albert Einstein
