Corn Dollies (September 2025)

Corn Dolly making is an ancient craft and it has accompanied the journey of the growth of farming and cereal growing across millennia.

It is also fun to do and consists of making attractive and intricate straw ornaments. On this workshop we will be looking at the history and the diverse forms the corn dolly has taken over the ages.

Students will make three or four corn dollies to take home using traditional methods and old varieties of wheat. We will be making traditional dollies and also be taking a look at a modern take on an old craft.

No experience necessary and all materials provided.
