Description
One-Day Mindfulness Retreat
‘A Sense of Place – Autumn’
Sunday 31st October 2021
10 am – 4 pm
This one-day retreat will combine Mindfulness, Poetry and Art in the tranquil surroundings of the Centre and the adjoining award-winning 50 acre woodland.
At this time of year the woodland provides a breathtaking spectacle of colours that stimulates all our senses and inspires to immerse ourselves in the beauty and stillness that surrounds us.
You don’t need to have artistic talent to take part as the tranquillity of the surroundings will inspire and encourage creativity.
It will be a gentle and slow-paced day with plenty of opportunity to explore and immerse yourself in nature, find stillness and calm and time for mindful meditation exercises.
With guidance from your tutor you will learn to deeply connect with nature by using your senses of sight, sound, smell and touch which will not only deepen your connection with nature but also improve connection with yourself.
Allow yourself to ‘be’ and embrace the stillness and discover the acceptance and appreciation that will unfold naturally.
We hope to spend the morning in the woodland (warm, waterproof clothing and suitable footwear will be required), have a simple vegetarian meal cooked over the campfire at midday before heading back to the heated timber-frame Centre building where various art and craft materials will be available for you to create your unique piece of art work that you will take away with you.
The course will be led by Sabine Soosten, a lifelong practitioner of mindfulness, who is a member of the Woodland Skills Centre team, a Level 3 ‘Mindfulness in a Woodland Setting’ practitioner and a Qualified UKCMM Accredited Practitioner and Teacher of Mindfulness Meditation.
All materials and food are provided and included in the course fee.
No previous experience required. This course is suitable for anyone over the age of 18.
Places are strictly limited – Small group size – Booking essential
Please note that attendance on this day is for your own personal use and is not a qualification to teach mindfulness.
