Mindfulness in the Woods – Four Week Course

Tuesdays 6pm – 8.30pm

(followed by a simple vegetarian supper)

 Starts 10th September – Ends 1st October 2019

Join us for these evening sessions of Mindfulness in the Woods to experience tranquillity and peace as the day draws to a close….

This 4-week course is an introduction to Mindfulness in a Woodland Setting and is suitable for anyone over the age of 18 who either already practises mindfulness or wants to explore the benefits of mindfulness in nature.
“Look deep into nature and then you will understand everything better.”               Albert Einstein
The sessions will provide you with the ‘tools’ to calm your busy mind and allow you to connect with nature by using your senses of touch, sight, smell and sound and ultimately improve connection with yourself. The sessions will provide you with simple exercises you can use at home to benefit your wellbeing.
Happiness is defined as a state of mind or a feeling characterised by contentment, love, satisfaction, pleasure or joy.  Recent research has shown that people are happier when they are concentrating on the present rather than when they are focussed on the past, the future or are distracted by worries, negative thoughts or fantasies.
The aim of the course is to learn new ways to handle your moods and emotions and to become aware of the small changes in the physical sensations in your body, your thoughts, moods and emotions and what is happening in the world around you.
The majority of the session will be held outdoors as it is far more beneficial as we have various outdoor spaces available – different woodland areas, meadows etc.
In case of inclement weather we will have the use of one of the timber-framed Centre buildings heated by a wood-burner stove.
The course will be led by Sabine Soosten,  an experienced and qualified Level 3 ‘Mindfulness in the Woodland’ practitioner who acts as guide and gives support.

Cost for the 4-week course is £60 including a simple vegetarian meal at the end of each session.

Woodland Skills Centre is a not-for-profit social enterprise. Therefore all our costs are kept to a minimum.
Small group size – Places are limited – Book early to avoid disappointment.
