Description
A One-Day Wellbeing in Nature Retreat
Mindfulness and Forest Bathing
Sunday 6th June 2021
10am – 3pm
A day of ‘me time’ inspired by the Japanese practice of Forest Bathing – Shinrin-yoku – and mindfulness.
Forest bathing – ‘Shinrin-yoku’, or being in the presence of trees, can boost the immune system, decrease stress and lower blood pressure.
The session will take place in our beautiful inspiring woodland where you will be able to immerse yourself in the peace and rhythms of the natural world.
This is an opportunity to simply ‘be’ in nature and be guided to connect with the natural world through the senses of sight, smell, hearing, taste and touch. This in turn will help relax and soothe body and mind.
Dedicate some time to your own wellbeing through guided and self-directed activities.
The day will be very slow-paced with plenty of opportunity to explore and immerse yourself in the beautiful surroundings to find stillness and calm.
You will be amazed how much more you notice and discover the benefits to body and mind.
There will be a range of different activities on offer but none are compulsory to take part in and you can choose depending how you feel at the time. You might just simply want to take time out, sit quietly, in your own company – maybe this is what you need at the time to relax and refresh your mind and body?
Activities might include: mindful woodland walk – nature connection meditations – body scan – nature immersion activities – Landart – sketching – craft work using natural materials – cloud watching – reflection time – foraging
The aim of the session is to send you home feeling relaxed and at ease with yourself, having developed skills to be fascinated by nature.
We will be based at one of our timber-frame shelters in the wood (toilet facilities consist of a compost loo which is very hygienic!)
The cost for the day is £50 which includes all materials and resources as well as refreshments and a simple meal cooked over the camp fire.
The session is led by an accredited and experienced Mindfulness guide, a member of the Woodland Skills Centre team, a Level 3 “Mindfulness in a Woodland Setting” and a Qualified UKCMM Accredited Practitioner and Teacher of Mindfulness Meditation.
. This session is suitable for anyone over the age of 18.
Places are strictly limited – Small group size – Booking essential – Sorry, no dogs
Please be advised that completion of mindfulness related courses does not imply, in any way, that participants become qualified to teach mindfulness to others.
